Hi Friends,

I am currently working a ERP application as a application support engineers. Befroe that i was working on Customized ERP Which is made in D2K....On that time i was familiar with developer 2000..From this point of view, I am planning to do career in Oracle...

But i am still confused about where i go Means Oracle developer or Oracle DBA ....i dont know where is more opportunity in indian market....

Please give me some direction so i start to work on that asap..

1/ In fact both are good.
2/ Its up to your liking.
3/ if you are good in the DBA OR In Oracle developer you will always have scope ANYWARE. Smile

One can (very simplistically) divide IT roles into support or development. These require different skills, and deliver different satisfaction. You need to decide where your natural abilities lie, and what gives you enjoyment. Very simply, DBA work tends to be in support, Forms work more in development. In my case, I know that I do development work well, and so do many other people; but when it comes to support, I am the best there is. However, in support, the best you can hope for is that no-one knows you are there: no user ever says "that was great database administration!" But users do (occasionally) say "well done - nice piece of development".

Enough said - my Enterprise Governance Risk and Compliance installation is at the final stage. Possibly no-one will say "thankyou" if I can get it going, but I will be proud that I did it.

The DBA gets the blame for everything. The drains are blocked? Call the DBA. It was probably a DBA's mistake that put the wrong teams in the world cup final.
