Hi,

In one of our RAC envrionment, we have more than 15 databases in a server running in AIX Operating system.

In the Listener file I am able to find only one entry (SID). But while trying to execute lsnrctl status it displays all the 15 SIDs in the list hosted in the ser ver. Not sure how it works?

As we created another one new database in the database, I am wondering where i need to add this SID in the listener.ora file to reload the listener.

Any suggestions pls

Where you want but following the listener.ora syntax. See Net Services Reference

Thanks for your quick reply.

I added the entry in the listener.ora file with new entries, but no luck after reloading it.

As I said earlier I am unable to see none of the SIDs in the listener.ora file, but if I mention the lsnrctl status it gives all the service up with listener running.

I am not sure which file it refers?

In these days, you do not find SID in listener.ora file, instance registers itself to the listener.
Please read Net Services Administrator's Guide.

With V10+ the listener.ora file is NOT required as long as you are willing to accept all default values.
