Dear All Experts !.

I am trying to install Oracle 11g R2 on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. When I execute setup.exe as Administrator the command window flashes and exits. I could not even see what the message is. Also tried command prompt. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

Even we do not know the error as you did n`t specified any!
Is it prerequisites window?
does your instalation stated after some time?

Are you trying to install 32-bit or 64-bit? Did you check the Crc of the downloaded files before extracting them. My first bet would be on a corrupt downloaded image ...

I just finished installing Oracle 11gR2 on my new laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. Perhaps if I provide the steps that I followed, you will see something that will help. Here is what I did, while logged in as an operating system user with administrator privileges the whole time:

I downloaded the Firefox browser and the DownThemAll add-on utility that speeds up downloading and allows for continuing an interrupted load.

From the Firefox Browser, I went to the Oracle downlaod page and selected the ...1of2... and ...2of2... zip files for the 11gR2 64 bit database (not just the client) and used DownThemAll to download them into the same directory.

I then unzipped both files into the same directory.

I read the following instructions and checked to make sure that my system met all of the hardware, software, share and so forth requirements:

Then I located the setup.exe in the database sub-directory of the directory that I unzipped the files into and ran it from the Windows Explorer, not the command prompt. It then ran the installation process. When prompted I selected things like creating a database and provided a password. I watched carefully for any errors and used the option to save results and such to a log.

If you have a previous failed installation, you may need to deinstall that first. If you have another database running, you will need to install the new one in a separate home.

Who are you asking? The original poster, Ranamirfan, has already said 64-bit in the title and in another reply. I was providing the steps that I followed for a successful installation on the same type of system, Oracle 11g R2 Install on Windows 7 (Professional) 64 bit, that might help him. You replied to my post, but I was not asking a question or presenting a problem.

He is obviously just trying to get his post count high enough to enjoy the removal of "junior" from his membership status, or to acquire usefulness of url links, etc, only available after so many posts.

Hi,
I am having some errors during installation oracle 11gr2 on windows 7 professional on my new laptop. I ignored the errors but after installation SQLPLUS cannot run because the startup database was not even created, can somebody provide step-step installation process on this platform....regard
