Recovery after INDEX rebuild. [message #463574]

Hi,

Suppose i have taken full backup at 1AM.

After that at 4 AM i rebuild index with nologging option.

1> Will it create logs for rebuilding?

Then after thar at 6 AM if i will go for recovery.

2> then what is the status of index? Will it be at previous state from the backup or will it be from rebuild state?

1> No, NOLOGGING is no logging.
2> INVALID, you have to rebuild/recreate the index.

Can you please explain why it will be in INVALID state?

Because i think that as we are going for recovery we can recover the index untill INDEX rebuild happened.
Am i correct?
