ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE WHEN I CREATE 7 DATA BASES IN ORACLE 8.1.5 0R 8.1.7 FIRST TIME ALL THE DATABASES WORK VERY WELL BUT IF I RESTART COMPUTER AND TRY TO CONNECT DATA BASE THEN MESSAGE APPEAR ORACLE NOT AVAILABLE OR ORACLE INITILIAZATION OR SHUTDOWN IN PROGRESS KINDLY GUIDE ME WHAT CAN I DO TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM

Hi,
Can you send us the exact error with error code you are facing.
You might not have the oracle_sid set in your environment.
send us the output of set command(if your OS is windows) or env (if your OS is unix/linux).

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>set

#env

It takes time for 7 databases to start up. Perhaps you should wait a little bit longer and try again (so that initialization or shutdown wouldn't be in progress)?
