Hi
I run into i bug of a 10.2.0.3 database which crashes wtih older versions of oracle clientes (<8.1.7)

I´m running forns 6i patch 4 and want to use e newer cliente. Isi it possible to upgrade th original cliente?

Have a look at the link in http://www.orafaq.com/forum/mv/msg/151193/431529/67467/#msg_431529 you will probably have to sign on to Oracle Support before the link will work for you.

If you have Oracle APPS then try using patch set 19 otherwise try using patch set 17.

You will have to regenerate and recompile all your libraries (object and program), menus, and forms against the new database.

Thanks for your reply. In fact we never updated the patch, because it never caused any problem for us. Several years we are usings 10Gr2 and now also 11, but 32bits, without any problem.
The first time we ran into this 64bits problem.

But i´ll made some testes.

I think it's time to say goodbey to 6i...
