Hi Guys,
I install oracle 10G database in my system. and i can able to connect with Sqlpuls without entering Host String name.
Then i install toad and work on that it works well for one week
but now it rise a error as
ORA-12545 :Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
then i try with Sql tools too. getiing same error.

Let me know how to resolve the issue.

please post version number with 4 digits...

post the output of

select * from v$version;

Try to connect again.
its a bug on earlier version of 10g later its fixed.

My version is 10.2.0.3.0

i did all the steps that you mentioned and nothing works for me

you didn`t provided what i asked..

select * from v$version;

is that a single instance?OR RAC involved?

Its a bug in 10.2.0.3 upgrade to the latest version.
