Summary of Duties:
We are seeking an experienced Database Developer to be part of a team responsible for database development and support of our eCommerce application.
Key responsibilities include
Work in project teams and very closely with Java developers to design, tune and develop SQL and PL/SQL codes for eCommerce application, and ensure the efficiency of all database codes being deployed into our production database. Support developers, Release engineers and QA engineers on any database related issue with your Oracle database expertise. Participation in the production release QA test and deployment process. Work on or assist with resolving any query related database performance issue in production identified by Production Support and Operation DBAs. You will also be involved in logical and physical data modeling and design with emphasis on physical data modeling for eCommerce application. You will also participate in database architecture, strategy sessions to help build for the future.
Qualifications:
·2-5 years hands-on experiences in PL/SQL development for high performance eCommerce application.
·2-5 years SQL performance tuning for Oracle, MySQL database applications, preferably eCommerce application.
·Unix Shell and Perl scripting.
·Strong Oracle DBA/DW concepts.
·Strong conceptual, analytical skills and decision-making skills
·Strong Database Design and Data Modeling.
·Quick Learner of new technologies or tools.
·Experienced working with Java developer.
·Experience as db development lead on projects.
·Excellent written and oral communication skills.
·Nice to have - actual development experience in Java/web technologies.
·Bachelor's degree.
Desired Skills:
·Sound knowledge of logical and physical data modeling and schemas design.
·Oracle Database Performance Tuning Experience
·Experience in trouble shooting bottle necks in database. Detect offending sql and recommend changes.
·Familiar with highly available database solutions / architectures in Oracle 9i or 10g
