Hi guys, I have an Oracle 11g EE over Windows XP with a database and some users. I want to do the authenticaton process via LDAP , in this case OpenLDAP in other machine with Debian Lenny. How I do this? I search in many sites and I found only references to Oracle Internet Directory that I not use. I like to learn how to do in OpenLDAP. Any help?
Thank You.

You can use OpenLDAP or Windows Active Directory.
You must first configure ldap.ora file in the database home and then register the database with Directory(OpenLDAP).For registration you can DBCA wizard....
Then You can use esm for managing your Directory (Global users,Global Groups and Registered DBs)....
I am here for any help.I have configured this but with Oracle OID because we are also using Oracle Application Server in our environment. And OID is avaliable with Oracle Application Server.

OpenLDAP was never supported.
For AD, it is an internal information I got from Oracle.
Still now, you can read in the documentation about AD (can't provide the link, site is down):
Quote:Oracle components make use of Oracle Internet Directory for centralized security administration. Your organization might have a Microsoft Windows domain that uses Active Directory for centralized administration. You should set up synchronization between Oracle Internet Directory and Active Directory before you configure Enterprise User Security to work with Active Directory.
That is without OID you can't use AD.
The futur (internal information) is to support only OID and OVD.
OVD can be a front-end for AD or OpenLDAP, this is supported (in all versions containing OVD) although you have to work hard with Oracle as there are many bugs.
Regards
Michel
