Hi all,

I have installed Oracle 9iAS on Windows 98 OS. The installation went on smooth without any problems.

But when I start the SQL Plus, I get prompted with the error as,

ORA 12560:TNS:protocol adapter error.

I tried for the answers over the forum but in vain. Can anyone please help me how sort out this problem.

Thanks in advance,

With Regards,

ORACLE_SID=name of ur database
ORACLE_HOME=installation path of Oracle

DOS> set ORACLE_HOME
DOS> set ORACLE_SID

to show the actual value

DOS> set ORACLE=HOME=PATH_ORACLE ( to set it )
