We are having problems with the file system, preventing us from implementing a complete mirroring of files at the O/S level.

Is anyone aware of a method of mirroring datafiles within Oracle?

I am thinking of something similar to log file groups, which enable the multiplexing of log files.

Note: we are running Solaris. We do NOT use ASM (although it may be that using ASM mirroring is a possible solution).

Thanks
ac

Data Guard is closest using Oracle solution.

The correct solution is to replace Operating System admins with one who can setup RAID volumes.

Is there a reason you aren't using ASM? I am a true newbie, but it seems like a good choice.
