It depends on what you actually want to do and if the schemas have independent lives or not and so on.
So detail your question.

What database version ? 11 g
Are they the same database version ? one of 8i and the new is 11g
Do they use the same character set ? yes
Are they on the same OS ? no
What kind of storage ? file system
Is there a network connection ? yes
What objects are in the schemas ? tables & sequnces
Is this a one-off, or do you need them kept the same ? i need them kept the same



What is the transaction volume ? small
How many tables and how many sequences ? all
How big are the tables ? very much
Do the tables need to be synced up to the second , or is once per day OK ? synced up to the second

Are you looking at one-way or two way synchronisation?
Ie do you just want changes in Db A to propogate over to Db B, or do you also want changes to Db B to go to Db A
