Hi,
I backup the database by rman in below

input datafile fno=00003 name=/database/oradata2/DEMO/TOOL_FRWK_001_00.dbf

input datafile fno=00019 name=/database/oradata2/DEMO/USER_GCCM_00.dbf

If I delete the file /database/oradata1/DEMO/SYSTEM_FRWK_001_00.dbf
, Can I still restore the data by rman without problem ??
If I delete the file /opt/oracle/9.2.0/dbs/04kqmtgv_1_1
,Can I still restore the data by rman without problem ???

Yes you can restore that file.

If that is a system datafile.You can restore like by using the command.
First shutdown the target database by using the command like ;

shutdown abort.

Then connect to the target database through catalog like.

rman>rman catalog rman/rman target sys/admin@<alias name>

rman> startup nomount
rman>restore datafile 1;
rman>alter database mount;
rman>recover datafile 1;
rman>alter database open;

If the backups are insufficient then it will be impossible to retore that datafile.And we lose the database.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
