Hello Gurus,
I have a report in which there is a field which contains the meter serial no. How can I convert this serial no. into bar-code GS1.

I've never heard of the "GS1" barcode; however, if it is similar to "3of9", then you'd need to have a font which is capable of displaying text as a barcode and, possibly, apply certain rules to the text (such as asterisk (*) sign at the beginning and the end of the text).

I have successfully implemented 3of9 barcode earlier. But this GS1 barcode seems to be tricky. Implementing GS1 is not so easy as 3of9 in which just append (*) at start and end and the barcode will do fine.
I have searched the forum but didn't get anything related to it. /forum/fa/1685/0/

As I've said, I don't know rules that apply to GS1 barcode. Do YOU know them? (Heck, if you knew, it would be a small matter of programming to implement them).

I've Googled for "GS1", and it seems to be a 2D barcode. I really wouldn't know how to display it correctly in Reports.

Just wanted to share...

Have to use convert_code128 function.
We can get code128 barcode from the function and if we want GS1,(as in my case) just append chr(202) at the beginning.

However: what is the "convert_code128" function? Where did you get it from? Google returned nothing. Did you write it by yourself?
