Hi all,

One of my DBA has created physical standby database without enabling the force logging option in the primary database.

Now I am facing problem during switchover ie data block corrupted.

I have checked dbv utility.. It shows block already marked corrupted. Block contains indexes. Corrupted indexes are created with nologging option.

How could I resolve this issue?

Regards,
GK

Fix the logging option in primary and recreate the standby.

Hi Michel,

Thanks for your reply.

This is a critical database. Can it be resolved without recreating the standby database by just enabling the force logging option in primary database and recreating those indexes with logging option?

GK

Check Recovering After the NOLOGGING Clause Is Specified.

However, as Michel already mentioned, it may simply require rebuilding the standby.
