Hi,

I have a complex report and report dimensions are in American letter format ( width : 8.5 inches, height : 11 inches). Now I want to convert this existing report to DIN A4 format ( standard in Gemrany). The dimensions for A4 format are width : 8.26 inches, height : 11.69 inches.

I did the following : I selected the Main section from Object navigator. Press F4 to go to Properties of Main section. Now I tried changing the dimesnions but I got this error.

REP-0801 : Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit all layout objects.

I already tried the remedies provided in this forum but still no help.

Additionla information: If I try with a new report and then try to do the dimensional changes then it works but not with any existing report./forum/fa/6598/0/

It appears that page WIDTH is a culprit:
Letter width = 8.50 inches
A4 width     = 8.26 inches
so I guess that you should first rearrange report objects (i.e. shrink their width so that they would fit into at least 8.26 inches) It doesn't take much - only 0.24 inches, but - what can you do?

There must be some frame spread out at the width greater than 8.26 inches. Make sure all your frames, fields or repeating frames are inside the 8.26 mark.
You have to change the same dimensions in the header and the trailer section as well.
