"Contributed", It means the topic for which most people have replied ( answered)

From my experience the threads with the most replies are either flame wars, that wander off-topic or posts that where the original poster is very vague. It has (often) nothing to do with how interesting the topic is.. (in contrary even)

And don't forget the decade-old Zombie posts, where someone posted an "I have EXACTLY the same problem!!" reply, even though the "original problem" was with Oracle 5 on DOS 6.22 or something. Laughing

As far as I can see, when a topic get more than maybe 10 replies it is because the question is unclear and/or un-understandable so there is the need for clarification, or the person who asked the question doesn't understand the answers.

The most "interesting" post are usually the ones with maybe 3-10 replies.
