Hi
I've worked as a apps DBA on a rollout of 11.5.3 starting about 8 years ago and we implemented GL, AP, AR, PA, PER, and PAY. There was another apps DBA and a full team from Oracle UK (PM and min 8 functional specialists) and if my memory serves me right it took about 6-8 months from getting the server and starting the install to 'go live'.
I've just come from an interview for an apps DBA role in the US for a company who shall remain nameless but believe that from date of hire the DBA and 1 Business System Analyst 'with Oracle experience' is going to go from fresh install to live in 8 WEEKS with GL, AR and AP!!
I've not worked with R12 yet but has something significantly changed in R12 this is possible and I'm crazy, because I laughed at the PM in the interview who told me the deadline or is this a project/timescale that is doomed to fail?
They don't have any Oracle products or any real Financial expertise and not planning on hiring anyone else.
Please tell me that I'm not crazy and this is hopeless if I'm offered the role?
Can someone offer a realistic time frame for this if possible from installing 12.1 2 application nodes and 2 RAC nodes and a standby database along with configuring GL, AP, PA and AR for a small company.
Thanks
