ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection. [message #406024]

Hi,
Received database down alert.

Check in alert log , no error found.

From SAP application log found ORA-12518 error.

And Oracleservice<dbname> not started but tnslistener service is started.

tried to connect as sysdba, recevied tns protcol adaptor error-ora-12560

Then started the database by starting oracleservice.

What could be reason , kindly help in this issue.

Did Oracle crash & you restarted it?

Database not crashed and its ORA-12518 error.

In SAP a import process was running, want to know why it occurred.

Oracle service alone stopped automatically.then I started the same, and increased large_pool_size from 16M to 64M.

Kindly suggest in finding the exact solution to avoid in future.

1/ Why database down? Check your complete alert log.

2/ Check your windows event viewer.

3/ What's the reason to increase your large pool size ??
