when starting the setup.exe of the Oracle Server 10g Rel. 2 on Windows Vista 64 i get the error that the home directory is too long and can only be 128 bytes long.

when looking in the .log file i see that no ORACLE_HOME has yet been defined.

Has anyone of you tried to install Oracle 10g Rel. 2 on
a 64-bit Windows Vista successfully ?

According to the Certification Matrix, the installation is only supported with the 10.2.0.4 installer, not with the 10.2.0.1 one.

And of course only with the more "Ultimate" Vista versions, not with the "Home"lier ones.
