Check out http://www.sun.com. Oracle's logo is already on the front page.

"Sun and Oracle today announced a definitive agreement for Oracle to acquire Sun for $9.50 per share in cash. The Sun Board of Directors has unanimously approved the transaction. It is anticipated to close this summer."

What to you guys think will happen to Oracle Linux (OEL) vs. Solaris, Oracle's DB vs. MySQL, etc?

Best regards.

Frank

Big big news..
What will happen to MySQL? Will it "integrate" with XE?
What will happen to NetBeans vs JDeveloper?
WebLogic, OAS or GlassFish?

And, will Larry use OpenOffice.org to nag Bill?

Could this mean that Oracle is now more in line with becoming a competitor to HP shortly after the release of a joint HP-Oracle Database Machine(Exadata). Will we now see a Sun version of Exadata?

"After investigating this year's most talked about acquisition, the European Commission has concluded Oracle buying Sun would be anti-competitive."
