Problem with Oracle10g installation on Linux x86_64 M/c [message #394089]

Hi
I am trying to install Oracle 10g2 on Redhat Linux x86_64 machine.
The package which I am installing is

[root@b11]# ls
10201_database_linux_x86_64.cpio

I am getting the following error

[root@b11]# ./runInstaller

Can any one help me why i am getting this error. Oracle 10g2 is not recognizing the OS of the machine.

First please refer to docs with installation and save all the agony.

To start with, you are not supposed to do install as root user.

Addressing the current problem you have, it is quite common.
You need to edit oraparam.ini file.
just google / search this forum

I don't recall the exact answer, but there is a file (possible in the root directory) that stores the name of the O/S. You can just edit that file and put in what it is looking for.

You might want to look at http://www.puschitz.com for help with linux oracle installs.
