Hi,

I'm currently trying to compile / install ROracle (an extension for the language R) on my Debian 'Lenny' / SID System.

During this process the following error is thrown:

make: proc: Command not found



After some hours of research I found out, that the 'proc' file should be located somwhere around
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/
but it clearly isn't (in fact I can't find any proc executable on my system...).

Installation of Oracle was performed as described here:

http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/install/xe-on-kubuntu.html

The $ORACLE_HOME directory (as set by /etc/init.d/oracle-xe):
/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server


Please consider, that I'm working for the first time with oracle...

it seems like Pro*C isn't integrated in Oracle XE

is there any (sane) workaround?
