Oracle 9i installation on linux [message #380849]

Hi all,

Im installing oracle 9i on linux platform.

since i don't have internet access on linux, i have downloaded oracle 9i s/w on windows xp (where i have internet access).

for example :
the 3 downloaded files were

1.Linux9i_Disk1.cpio.gz
2.Linux9i_Disk2.cpio.gz
3.Linux9i_Disk3.cpio.gz

Now, i need to unzip and unpack the downloaded files from windows and then move it to linux platform in order to Start the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI) by issuing the following command in the Disk1 directory:

./runInstaller

Can anybody revert me with the solution ?

No, move the zipped files to Linux, in binary mode of course.

How to move the zipped files to linux in binary mode??

u mean to say 'ftp'?

Hi,

To get files to linux from windows , one should do ftp in linux ,right?

How to configure and enable ftp in linux ?

Please provide me the steps??

Maybe you should ask this in a Linux forum and not in an Oracle one.
