Thanks for the reply and the links. I looked at the information in your reply error before I posted and the Insufficient Rollback Segments cause seems to be my situation. However, no updating is going on so I don't understand why I get the error. I'm not doing any additional processing after my query and no else is updating the table while it's running. The thing I guess I was hoping for was some setting that would tell Oracle not to hold my query result until it is completely finished. All I want to do is spool each record to a flat file and I don't need to any additional processing on the full result set. The links to other postings have some suggetsions that I'll look into. Again, I'm new to Oracle so maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't fit with the way it does its processing.
