try this query
select distinct(sal) from emp x where 10>=
(select count(distinct(sal)) from emp x.sal<=sal);

hi,

sorry one mistake in the previous query

select distinct(sal) from emp x where 10>=
(select count(distinct(sal)) from emp where
x.sal<=sal) order by sal desc;
