I'm looking to upgrade performance forqueries that are not aware of the contents of the tables they are querying

I mean i can get the indexes, statistics but I won't know if it will give me 100 or 1 000 000 rows

So it's hard to use classic optimization rules.

I'd like to know which way i can get good performance
(it's a bit like the Oracle optimizer)
