Hi,
I tried to install Oracle 8.1.6 32 bit workgroup server on AIX 4.3.3. Everyting is fine except the oracle installation program complains that several make files (Sorry I can't recall them) failed. I ignore these messages and seems that the database server is installed anyway. But I'm afraid something may not be installed properly. Does anyone has a clue?

Hi,
We just install 8.1.6 on Aix 4.3.3 32 bit and had 1 error message about the java file component install we did ignore the message and kept on moving but everything looks fine. If your are using the java base components then maybe you should look into it. You can check the install log files and find the name of the file then call oracle for support. The log can be found under
/u04/app/oracle/product/oraInventory/logs/InstallActions.log
Check it out and if you find more in detail please let me know.
