Hi,

I am getting the following error message: "ORA-00020: maximum number of processes num exceeded." The number of PROCESSES is currently set at 300 in the init.ora file and this error message has been occurring on a daily basis this week on our Oracle Enterprise 8.0.5.0.0 Server. The number of PROCESSES in the init.ora file was originally set at 200 and we increased it to 300 but, we are still getting the following error message. Oracle sits on Windows NT 4.0. Our site server here replicates up to a Central Database Server. Do you know what the maximum value is for the number of PROCESSES? Also, do you have any suggestions on what else to try?

Thanks,
Laura

Did you bounce the database after changing in your init.ora file?

And check in your Instance manager ini paremeters what is the value of process .
