cannot increase db buffer cache hit ratio [message #369299]

I have increased the db buffer 4 folds, up the shared_pool_size by 4 times and yet I still can't get the db buffer cache hit ratio about 50%.
where did I go wrong?

Hi,
What is the total memory for your oracle server m/c i.e. total RAM ? Is any other s/w all installed on your oracle server m/c ? what are the current values for SGA buffers ?
