I encounter a ORA-00308 error during a recovery of a cold backup on Oracle 8 Win NT.
I recovery my data, redo & archive logs. Then I start the database w/ nomount option & rebuild the control file (using RESETLOGS option). I then issue the 'recover database using backup controlfile' command. Oracle reads each of the archive log files that it generated (1 through 9). Then it errors out (ORA-00308) trying to read archive log #10. It never created #10. Why would it want to read it in? What can I do to avoid this error message?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
