Hi,
There are way too many new and enhanced features in Oracle 8i to list in this e-mail. Some differences are listed at http://www.orafaq.com/faqnews.htm#ORA8I. Please refer to the Oracle Migrations Guide for more details.
Oracle 8i doesn't ship with a Web Server. If I remember correctly, however, you will receive a free developer license for WebDB with 8i which you can use. If you need a heavy duty Web Server, it would be best to get a copy of the Oracle (Web) Application Server.
Cheers

Hi,
I would go straight to Oracle 8.1.6 as it is the second 8i release. Oracle 8.0.6 is also a good choice if you work for a very conservative company.
Please watch out for 8.0.5 and 8.1.5, Oracle is busy desupporing these releases.
Cheers
Frank
