Hi Krishna,
Oracle 7.3.3 was desupported by oracle on Dec'31-1998 on most of the OS including digital unix. But support and bug fix on oracle 7.3.3 would be available till Dec'31-2000.
As far as the Y2k issue is concerned, Oracle did its Y2k testing on both Oracle 7.3.3 and Oracle 7.3.4.
In its white paper it has clearly specified Oracle 7.3.4 and above are Y2k compliant. Which indirectly means Oracle 7.3.3 is not Y2k compliant.
But oracle also has used the following sentence in the same year2000 white paper:-
4.2.4 Oracle 7 and Oracle 8 :-(Paragraph header)
Oracle strongly recommends migrating to supported versions
of its products. For customer who choose to remain with
desupported versions of oracle server, we provide the
following guidance. Desupported versions of Oracle7
from 7.1 and higher are Year 2000 compliant. Further,
Oracle8 version 8.0.3, which has been desupported is
year 2000 compliant. Some of these versions have known
year2000 issues.
Bottomline:-
------------
I hope you would get some direct answer from someone with some concrete evidence. A L L T H E B E S T.
Regards.
Venu
