I have been asked to find out: what the minimum and usuable requirements are for Oracle8 running on a DEC Alpha (either OpenVMS or Dec Unix) with approximately 20 concurrent users (not developers)? We currently have an Alpha 2100 (300 Mhz, 256 RAM) which we think may take on this role.
Also need to know the same information for a system with 4 concurrent developers. We are considering an Alpha 3000 LX (old system running at 125Mhz with just 64 megs of RAM) running Oracle Server. Clients will likely run Des 2000 and Developer 2000 on NT platforms.
Any other comments on system requirements or the benifits of UNIX or Windows NT would be greatly appreciated.

For the Deployment system, I would say you have just crossed the border line.
You config is enough. The memory and stuff all depends on the data load as well. But also this can be compensated with the number of spindles you use. If the application is a very high IO bound one then its better to use more disks. This will improve the speed.
