I have installed Oracle Portal HTTP Server on one computer and try to connect to PORTAL user on another one get next error:

Client Logon Failed with errorcode:604
Error-Code:604
Error TimeStamp:Wed, 01 Nov 2000 14:42:03 GMT
Database Log In Failed
TNS is unable to connect to destination. Invalid TNS address supplied or destination is not listening. This error can also occur because of underlying network transport problems.
Verify that the TNS name in the connectstring entry of the DAD for this URL is valid and the database listener is running.

Where is the problem?

Hai,

This problem is only because of tnsnames.ora file configuration not being proper.

We had this error message whenever the Database was down or the TNSCONgiuration was goofed up.

Check using tnsping, to check the database connectivity is proper from the Webserver to the Database server.
