installing rac on 2pc by vmw [message #364635]

hello guys
i was wondering can i install oracle rac on 2 pcs using vmw?

the document of vmw makes the installition on a single pc..and i did that
but the pc become sooo slow

so i tried to do it on 2 pcs
i faced the proplem of the shared storage
if i created shared storage from on pc's vmw the other pc cannot use it ..he say it belongs to another vmw running on another pc.

do u know any way around?

I'm pretty sure you can. However, you need to sort out the "shared storage" issue. Maybe by buying an external shareable hard disk drive.

i did the implintation before on 3 pcs
2 nodes"with 2 nw cards" and an open filer server acting as shared storage.

but in the vmw document u donot have to do this or to have a shared disk..it simulate it

my question is it possible to do it without any external shared devices?

If I'm mistaken Oracle 11g supports OCR and voting disks on NFS mounted storage.

Hi

Make sure you had added below line in Your Gust VMX file.

diskLib.dataCacheMaxSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCacheMaxReadAheadSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCacheMinReadAheadSize = "0"
diskLib.dataCachePageSize = "4096"
diskLib.maxUnsyncedWrites = "0"
disk.locking = "false"

If not added it in both OS VMX file.
