We currently run Oracle 7 on a single OpenVMS server and use a second system as failover in the event of the first system crashing.
We are being pressured by Management to implement Parallel Server to "Make full use of the hardware" as they expect it to provide us with performance improvements. We run an OLTP application used by Call Centre staff so response time is very important.
Does anyone have any experience of running Parallel Server under VMS and did you get any performance improvements by implementing it (if you are running an OLTP application).
