For some client deliveries it is required to do an EXP from an Oracle 9.2 client. The server itself has been recently upgraded to 11.1

When I run the export command:
exp user/password@tnsconnection file=myfile.dmp statistics=none

All I get is the following:
Copyright (c) 1982, 2002, Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved.

Connected to: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, Real Application Clusters, OLAP, Data Mining
and Real Application Testing options
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and AL16UTF16 NCHAR character set

No error message, no success message, no tables exported message, just a tiny file that cannot possibly be the full dump.

Is this a character set issue? How to I get/change it?

If you need to export data from a 9i database, use 9i EXP utility version (not 11g).

I need to do a 9.2 Export from an 11.1 database.

For reference I can do an export just fine from a 10.2 client, but not a 9.2 one.

Also as far as I can tell the NLS_LANG on both of these is identical (AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252)
