Emp Code selection problem [message #353844]

i have made attendance form. In which i have add the code in post-change trigger of emp_code text box. Every time when the attendance is made the emp id is higligted in the emp_code text box and when next emp swap the card, the previous emp id is replaced with new emp id and the attendance of new employee has marked.
But the problem is that if the employee swap the card two times in a squance then i have shown the message "Already in wait 3o seconds". The employee have to wait 30 seconds for swap the card again. After this message when another employee swap the card emp_code text box did not highlighted and cursor blink in this emp_code field.

Please tell me how the emp_code field is always highlighted after every employee swap.

Disable all the field in attendance form except Required Field..

Why wait 30 seconds, just give a 'beep' and show a message like "Card already registered" and then wait for the next one?
