Hi all,
I'm new to the Windows world (for Oracle) and I was wondering what is preferable, Win XP or Win2003 Server.
What are the technical reasons?
Thanks!

Well, it depends on what you plan to do with both Oracle and operating system.
MS Windows XP is an operating system designed to be used (primarily) on personal computers. MS Windows Server 2003, on the other hand, is a server operating system, designed to be used on business line products.
How many users do you plan to have? Many? If so, then XP is probably out of question. Couple of them? Server 2003 would probably be too much.
Are you doing business all by yourself? If so, how about a free (even for commercial use, certain limitations apply) Oracle 10g Express Edition?
I guess people who have experience in multiple installations on these operating system might tell you more about the issue. As I'm not the one, perhaps I'd better quit now.
