Hi.

I am trying to import dump file into 10g using "IMP" command at command prompt. I have installed Oracle 10g on different Server. The exported dump file is from 9i.

i am importing dump file as

d:\imp

username: rss09
password: rss

i have encountered following error after entering username and password

IMP-0058 : oracle error 12560 encountered
ORA-12560: TNS Protocol adaptor error.
IMP-00000: import terminated unsuccessfully.

What could be the reason, please help me.

ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
*Cause: A generic protocol adapter error occurred.
*Action: Check addresses used for proper protocol specification. Before
reporting this error, look at the error stack and check for lower level
transport errors. For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the
operation. Turn off tracing when the operation is complete
