Dear All,

Soon I will be buying a new laptop , and was just wondering if anyone could tell me how well Oracle 10/11 g runs on Microsoft Vista.
Whats the minimum memory I should have? It says 512 MB on the Oracle documentation but given the problems I've heard about Vista and crashing because of small memory I was looking to get 4GB.
Can anyone advise me on this?

For V11 Oracle it says - Windows Vista - Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions & 1GB minimum RAM

For 64-bit OS Vista, AFAIK, it requires 4GB RAM.

Earlier today I posted here & asked if anyone had V11 running on Home Premium Vista & have not gotten any reponses so far.

4GB ram minimum. I thought that would be more then enough!!
What version oracle / os are you using right now?

I was slightly confusing in my previous post in this thread.
32-bit Windows can only address 3GB RAM
If 4+GB of RAM exists, then 64-bit Vista is required.
V11 Oracle says minimum RAM is 1GB,

I run V10 & V11 Oracle in production on both RHES4 & RHES5.
My test, development, & sandbox systems run on Windows, Centos & Ubuntu.
