Hi all,

Actually I am planning to do my Oracle DBA certification in
a reputed Training centre. The problem with me is that Can I go for Oracle 9i Certification/10 g wherein most of the production DB has been upgraded to 10g and higher versions.
I think, doing 9i certification in this duration is a waste of cost. Shall I wait for the 10g or can I go for 9i itself??.....

Moreover I am new to enter in to the field. Please help me buddies in choosing my career !!....
Eager for your reply ....

Thanks in advance for all,
SenthilkumarParthiban.V

go for the 10g certification as 9i is outdated. However, if you want to have a better understanding of oracle database then study the guide for 9i cerfication also. Oracle architecture is best explained in 9i certification.

regards

Thanks for the clarification.
I Will be waiting for 10g.
Can anyone please suggest any of the book that will be really useful for a BDA career(For 10g RAC). Like DBA Handbook.

Thanks for the same.

Since your fresher in DBA profile you can prefer 9i DBA your base will be strong enough ,In 10g DBA most of the thing are automated you will not able to understand the basic concept behind it , If your planning to 9i DBA you can easily update to the latest version.
