I am implementing one-way replication between 2 databases.


Do people leave the target database in archive-log mode?
Do they backup the target database?

Do you want to replicate the whole database? Do you want exactly the same duplicated database?

The target db is a replication of one schema in the source db.

Effectively, the target db will be read-only to users.
The tables in the single-schema are used for Business Objects reports.

So; Implemented Advanced Replication - Materialized Based Replication Not Multimaster Replication.

In this case you can go to a logical standby database, see Data Guard Concepts and Administration, or Streams, see Streams Concepts and Administration.
