SEMINAR on LINUX FOR DBAs
Oracle Database Administration in a Linux environment is quite different from windows.
Linux offers a robust command-line interface with a wealth of functions that go far beyond the limited
capabilities of a GUI interface.
Because Linux is open source, all the low level communication between the hardware and software
are exposed and the Oracle DBA can see virtually every aspect of Oracle's behavior as it interfaces with RAMS,
Routers and Disks. Linux is very simple in nature, and most of the linux commands are compiled C programs,
and hence we can go "behind the scene" and see the source code behind many linux commands.
What can you expect from the Seminar?
1.Importance of Linux
2.Features of Linux
3.Utilities in Linux for DBAs
4.How Linux proves better than Windows for a DBA – Reasons
5.Opportunities for a DBA on a Linux Operating System
