How many lines of rows can be displayed through SQL PLUS [message #334317]

How many lines of rows can be displayed through SQL PLUS.
I am running a query ad getting 1,46,000 rows.But problem is that
when I want to see the entire resulset by scrolling up.After a certain limit I cant see the rows at the top.

Can this be resolved by setting some parameters?

Infinite can be displayed.
The number that you can scroll depends on your buffer setting.
But who scroll 146000 rows?

Through spool we can store the entire records in a text file.
But here I am not being able to do that as I have no acces to
create text file.

Is there any way to copy the entire resul set to a file?
I mean the entire records need to be copied into a text file.
Can I run any command to set increase the buffer setting using SQL plus?

ya, I understand but I have no priviledge to create text file.
Then , How can we increase the Buffer height so that after display millions of rows I can go to the top rowby scrolling up.

That Buffer setting is not an SQL*PLus setting, but a setting of your OS command window.

And you HAVE to be able to create files. At least in some temporary user directory, otherwise you wouldn't be able to work at all on your OS.

If you are saying you have no right to create any file, I can only assume that you are working through a terminal client.
In that case, it depends on your client, but for example PuTTY can save the session output in a file to your local computer.
Go to Session->Logging to do so.
