Has anyone setup ocr and voting disks on raw storage? I have the following multipathed disk presented to the host via fiber hba's:

c4t60060E8004F258000000F25800003212d0 <additional disk info>

The Oracle install guide mixes SC3.2 and vxvm verbage, but I just tried to stamp them chown oracle:dba, and chmod them 660. However, when I address slice 6, it doesn't recognize the slice. Are there any better details for reading how to set this up. I just want to use raw for the ocr and voting, and let ASM handle the database portion.

Additionally, would svm be compatible to use in setting up a layer to present for ocr, voting, and asm?

It probably could be a multipathing issue.
Ran into it sometime back and SA's took care of it.
Also make sure that
Quoting docs
Solaris fdisk partitions must start at cylinder 1, not cylinder 0.

Mahesh,
Thanks for your reply. I dropped the first cylinder and started at 1. I gave the rest of the disk to root. Here is a copy of one of the disks that show up under the oracle user. As you can see I volnamed it and ran a format from root.
------------------------------------------------------------
0. c7t600C0FF0000000000B5C3B34D5EB3A00d0 <SUN-StorEdge3510-421F cyl 148 alt 2 hd 64 sec 32> ocra
/scsi_vhci/ssd@g600c0ff0000000000b5c3b34d5eb3a00
------------------------------------------------------------

When I own the disk for oracle, I notice that it doesn't reflect oracle:dba ownership under /dev/rdsk/c... The oracle permissions appear under /device/scsi_vhci/ssd....

When I run the format command under the oracle user, things like inquiry and disk format fail stating only "inquiry failed". For fiber channel connections I'm thinking I'm missing a step in setting this up. Anybody have references for what I'm missing.
