Hello All!

In a 3-tier setup, the web/app tier has the Forms and Reports services right?

Do they ever affect each other in terms of performance? Suppose i have 1 system stricly using Forms services and another system thats strictly using the Reports services, are they pretty much isolated from each other even if they access the same DB?

The worst-case scenario that i can think of for the Reports services part is if a Reports program hanged (suppose it was trying to fetch insane number of rows). Would this scenario ever affect the other system (forms)?

I appreciate any insights. =)

The Forms Server and Reports Server make requests of the Database Server. It is up to the DBA to make sure that a single server or user is unable to monopolise the database server.
