Connection Problem with TOAD [message #328113]

Hi,

I am able to connect to database using SQL*PLUS.But when i am connecting through TOAD i am getting the following Error.

" ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor "

Cant Understand what could be the posibalities.

Can any one help me on this??

So use SQL*Plus since it works.

This is one of the most basic errors around.
Did you try to Google for the error?

There must be something like the following image in your TOAD version:

/forum/fa/4488/0/

Could you change it (as if I set something different than "XE") and try again?
