Help needed.

For some reason I can't compile or execute any of my stored procedures from within SQL Developer anymore. Everything has been fine for a month and about half an hour ago I couldn't execute any of my procs anymore. I don't get any compiler messages anymore unless I deliberately put errors in my code. Executing the proc doesn't seem to do anything.
Please advise.

Procedure does DML & contains no COMMIT.
Am I correct?

Sorry, You guessed wrong.

I did some testing and for some reason the procedures won't execute from the SQL Developer application anymore. Executing it from Sqlplus works fine.
For now Sqlplus will be my work around and I'll try to get the client software working again.

I got ... nothing.
I press compile, the button blinks once and that's it. No compiler message in the message window. Only when there are errors in my source.

What message do you expect?
Is the code in the db changed?

"Nothing is happening" is about the lousiest description of a problem in IT. (and hardly ever true)

Solved.

Frank,

When I compile a procedure the "compiled" message should be shown and when executing the procedure a "Run pl/sql" acknowledgement form should come up before actually running the script. None of these happened.
But after reinstalling the SQL Developer software everything works fine again. I guess the client software "just went wrong".

I love how windows gets a bad wrap for stuff like this.

Nice to see the Linux has become more real. Re-install a bad app (hehehe) used to be reserved as a windows fix for any app that started behaving badly.

Soon we will be seeing "just reboot (this or that) to fix it" as a Linux solution. Can't wait.
